Name: Fawnstep
Age: 30 moons
Clan: GustClan
Rank: Medicine Cat
Gender: Female
Picture: farm1.static.flickr.com/217/484383010_104551a7b7.jpg?v=0
Appearance: Fawnstep is a light gray she-cat with slightly darker stripes across her back, circling around to her front and paws. The stripes on her tail are nearer to the colour black. The lighter misty patch of gray on her chest and stomach trails up to her face, covering her nose in off-white, sort of a creamy beige colour. Her pastel pink nose helps bring out her eyes, which are the palest shade of green. They sit deep in their sockets, full of wisdom only the duty of a medicine cat can entail. Her claws are a solid gray, though not sharpened for battle as the rest of her clan. Her whiskers are of purest white, and her expression usually remains very warm and friendly.
Personality: Friendliness and warmth do make up a good portion of Fawnstep’s personality. She’s very happy as a medicine cat, doing her job well and efficiently. Anything she can do to provide comfort and joy to her clanmates, she does to the very extreme of her abilities, because that’s just the kind of caring cat she is. And although Fawnstep may seem very happy and perfect and normal, on the inside everything isn’t so great. The front she puts up for her clanmates takes a great effort, but its not always a front. When she gets a wistful, faraway look in her eyes, she’s usually thinking of her love Foxtracks. (Will explain in History) Her biggest flaw is her uncertainty. Fawnstep does well being a medicine cat, and treats all her patients with utmost care, but the almost daily visits from Foxtracks and his proclamations of love for her leave her debating whether or not she should indeed run away with him as he tries to persuade her too. She doubts she could even have the courage to leave her clan. She doesn’t wish to run away, for she is loyal to her clan and its leader, but she does love Foxtracks, and cannot stop the flicker of her heart everytime he comes near.
History: {Kit} Fawnstep was born to normal GustClan parents. Her father was a noble warrior, everyone had told her so, though she never knew him. He died in battle when she was only a few days old. Her mother assured her that he would have loved her with his whole heart, but for a long time Fawnkit wasn't so sure of that. She was born with only 3 limbs, and from the way the other kits in the nursery looked at her, she knew it wasn't normal. The other kit in the nursery, Foxkit –born to a different queen- was always friendly to her, which kept her fears at bay for awhile. But sure enough, when the rest of the clan had come to visit her mother and wish her well and offer sympathies for her deceased mate, Fawnkit saw they all had four legs. She could feel their confusion and disappointment. Why had her beautiful mother been given a defected kit? Surely she deserved better. She heard their whispers that floated in from outside the nursery: Maybe she’s defected. Maybe she won’t be a warrior. There’s no way. Do you think she’ll be dumb, or a liability to the clan? Fawnkit took notice of all of their stares and feelings towards her, wondering why they couldn't accept her for who she would become, like her friend Foxkit. She later proved them all wrong about her.
{ Apprentice}
Pretty soon, as she watched her friend move out of the nursery and into the apprentices den, she wondered about her future. Fawnkit’s dreams were crushed when she learned she might never be a warrior. All she ever hoped was to help her clan and serve her clanmates well. Her mother had a meeting with the leader, after practicing some hunting crouches with her daughter outside the nursery. Fawnkit was doing pretty well considering she only had three limbs. Not that she was great, but she persisted, and was finally allowed to become a warrior apprentice. She trained hard and became considerably better than before. Sometimes the other warriors would watch her training for a few moments, and ended up staying for quite awhile. They were amazed that the little Fawnpaw they all thought would be useless was turning out great and might be of some value after all. Soon it was time for her assessment. She passed it well, despite tripping into some foxdung (which disguised her scent from prey very well might I add xD) at the start.
{Warrior}
Her warrior ceremony was held, and she became Fawnstep. She was very giddy that she could finally join the other warriors and see her friend Foxpaw again –who was now Foxtracks-. They began to grow closer, as all young cats do with time, and pretty soon she was sure that every time she looked into the tom’s eyes her heart would beat just a little faster, and her eyes would take on a certain sparkle to them. Oh how the elders gossiped. Sure the little cripple had become a warrior, but they doubted she could ever be loved. Pretty soon the whole clan was talking about her speculated feelings toward said tom. Whenever asked about it, she vehemently denied it, but when her mother would ask her, she would just turn away with the aforementioned sparkle lingering in her eyes.
{Medicine cat apprentice}
Unfortunately in this world, good things tend not to last long at all. That’s what Fawnstep found out the hard way one night when she received an odd dream, presumably from StarClan, seeing as how the cats had stars glittering their fur and were surrounded in mist. It was that night she learned her pawsteps were set on the path to being a medicine cat, and there was nothing she could do. It seemed not even love had the power to overturn StarClan’s decision. Her heart shattered, but she managed to accept it. There was something she had to do before beginning her training.
One day she went up to Foxtracks and seemingly nonchalantly, she asked him to go hunting with her. While out, she took him aside and explained. She was forced to confess her feelings, but before the tom could say anything she rushed on, explaining the medicine cat dream and everything else. When she finished, she was shocked as he admitted to liking her too. She briefly permitted herself a loving gaze at him, then saddened, for she could not have a mate whilst on this new path of destiny. They parted, and he still visits her everyday. She began her training with the former medicine cat, and over many moons she learned everything there is to know about herbs and sickness and poultices. When her former mentor passed on, she took his/her place as GustClan’s medicine cat.
RP Example: Fawnstep padded softly through GustClan's camp, trying not to wake any of the warriors or queens that had turned in early for a well deserved rest. She could still feel the eyes of her clanmates on her, but to her satisfaction they were the gazes of admiration. Wondering how she managed to pull through from her kithood. A small smile crossed her features without her knowing. Finally making her way to the camp's entrance, she nodded to the other warrior on duty. Fawnstep needed to go out and collect some herbs, for they were running low in coltsfoot and marigold. All was quiet as the night wore on, except for a few stray warriors passing through to make dirt outside camp. Fawnstep calmly nodded her head as she passed. She returned later with several clumps of both previously mentioned herbs. She had gathered as much as her mouth could carry, which was hardly enough without an apprentice.
After a few moments, her green eyes caught movement near the fresh-kill pile. Heart pounding, she strained her eyes to catch a glimpse of what appeared to be a figure stretching, then making it's way over to her. She moved to a defensive stance and softly called to the shape, "Who's there?"
As the cat got closer, she thought she felt it flick her on the nose, and she knew immediately who it was. "Oh, Foxtracks. You frightened me!" Fawnstep exclaimed softly, smiling at her old friend and former love with a wistful gaze.
Guardian:None, but she doesn’t really need one, does she? Whatever you prefer
Other: She heavily debates whether or not its still possible to love Foxtracks.
