Silentsong had made the short swim to the island. She entered the darkness of the cavern. Her emerald gaze was fixed on the pool. The moon glittered beautifully on it. She padded over and sat beside it.
'Mirrorkit, is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan?' she asked in signs.

Mirrorkit, A beautiful silver tabby shekit, Looked down into the water and up at her soon to be mentor on the other side. She smiled and nodded before jumpping into the water and swimming up beside silentsong. "yes I am ready Silentsong!" She said jumpping up in excitement. "I can't wait to be a true medicine cat and help cats like you do. Then she looked into the water and hesitated. Silentsong, did starclan really chose me to be your apprentice?"

((She's only supposed to swim till she gets on the island. LOL))
'Then come forward. Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant her your wisdom and insight, so that she may understand your ways and heal her Clan in accordance with your will. Now, crouch down and drink from the pool' she signed.

For a second Mirrorkit looked into the water and visualized a black tom. Mirrorkit dipped her head and drank form the pool confidence flowing through her. Was this from the cat in the water? Nightpaw? She had thought she had gotten ride of the picture of the cat in the water when she drank, but when she lifted her head he was still there. Then he disappeared. Her blue eyes widened with wonder.

[glow=red,2,300]You said, "move on" Where do I go? I guess second best Is all I will know[/glow]
Frostfoot set off for Star Island, padding quickly in hopes of reaching the isle before the moon rose. He wanted to meet with StarClan and recieve his name before his ancestors, as Moonglow had told him. He quickly ran over the dream in his mind as he reached the shores just off of GustClan's territory. There, he could see the island across the way. Swimming would not bother him, for he was used to the wetness; the lower mountains of SnowClan were usually wet with melt-water come spring.
His ginger fur shone as a shaft of dying sunlight hit his body, the white paws glinting like the ice, before the sun sank below the horizon, leaving the world under the watch of a dusk that painted the skies with a sweeping, pink-blue brush. With a deep breath of what was to come, Frostfoot slipped into the water and began the journey across the short expanse of water. Power bunched in his hind legs, muscles taunt as he kicked forward, managing to keep his muzzle above the water.
Idly, he let his mind slip, and he wondered what he would do if he ran into Silentsong. He was sure he would be prepared for the meeting, for it had to come soon now that they were both medicine cats. But, he reminded himself, she probably would not arrive at the Moonpool until the half moon. You're safe for another quarter moon or so, he calmed his nerves silently. He knew he was ready to face her again, but he did not know how he would act. For now, he would push her from his mind, concentrating solely on his duty.
As he reached the opposite shores of the sacred island, he pulled himself out of the water and shook off the clinging drops. He gave his chest-fur a few looks, in an attempt to look half-decent and not half-drowned, for his meeting with StarClan. Before entering the cave, looming like a gaping mouth that led into darkness, Frostfoot flicked his tail almost nervously. He took a pawstep forward, before pausing - he heard a trickling of water and the echoes of mews from within. A hush fell briefly, and he knew his life was changing drastically before his eyes as he crossed the line that separated warriors, and medicine cats.
Then, he entered the cave.
At first, his paw steps were slow, hesitant, but he quickly hurried up as he spotted the pool before him. His heart thudded in his ears, and he swallowed. His fur bristled, a mix of excitement, anxiety and hope. Suddenly, figures grew in the dim light, and he spotted a small feline, hardly older than an apprentice, and next to the first, a familiar shape, creamy tabby with a brilliant gaze.
Silentsong!

Silentsong sat at the edge of moonpool. It was not her night to share tongues with StarClan. Her mind wandered to those days when she was happy. Those few gatherings, with Frostfoot.
An oh so familar scent washed over her. She then heard the pawsteps enter the cavern. She turned to face the blazing red tom with white glittering paws. It was Frostfoot. Why is he here, at moonpool? she asked herself. 'Hello Frostfoot' she signed. Her heart still ached even though many moons had passed.

The tom felt his throat sieze up, as if he had suddenly caught a cold, but the feeling quickly passed. The medicine cat turned, meeting his gaze, seeming surprised. She didn't say anything, though Frostfoot had not been expecting her to. Instead, she signed a simple greeting, but nothing more.
"Oh, good evening, Silentsong," he meowed hesitantly, dipping his head in acknowledgement of the young feline nearby, obviously Silentsong's apprentice. "I'm here to recieve my true name before our ancestors; Moonglow died just recently and StarClan have shown that I am to walk the path of a medicine cat, to be trained through my dreams . . ."
His explanation seemed long and boring even to him, and he quickly shut up. His tail slowly switched back and forth behind him, his amythest eyes blinking slowly as the three fell into the silence, a whirlpool bringing them all down to their very depths. . .

Sielntsong smiled. 'I guess we'll be seeing alot of each other' she signed. Happiness washed over her, she would be able to see him alot now. 'I'm always there to help with anything' she signed happily.

"Yes, thank-you" he replied shortly, not trusting himself to say anything else. The tom-cat's gaze flickered away briefly, sailing towards his white paws, studying the short fur as if it was the most interesting thing. Despite himself and his wishes not to, he couldn't help but glance back at her. He felt the itchings of a smile tear at his lips but he fought against it bravely, knowing that their closeness would never be able to conquer anything.
Frostfoot would never betray his CLan in such a way. His loyalty to SnowCLan was much too strong. That troubled him, for he knew that his love for his home Clan was much more than his love for Silentsong. Dismay at this knowledge had been attacking him ever since he had first met her; it meant he simply would never be able to chose Silentsong. Not even if they were in the same Clan, not even if they were both simple warriors.
To bring his mind away from such troubles, he turned his attention to the young Mirrorpaw, asleep at the MoonPool. This brought a smile to his face, for he could see she was happy, deep in her dream, to be walking this path. He sat, his fur brushing along stone ground, as he waited for his turn to appear before StarClan.

Mirrorkit fell asleep instantly. At first all she could feel was the cool breathing of the cave. She then felt a more strong breeze against her soft kit pelt. When she opened her eyes she screach in suprise. Where was she? Many new sents filled her glands. What was going on? The next thing that happened had not startled Mirrorpaw but showed suprise and curiosity. Who are all these cats coming toward her from silverpelt. Was it starclan?

Silentsong gazed at her slumbering apprentice. She padded towards Frostfoot. She nuzzled him affectionately. 'Don't you still love me?' she asked in signs.

Frostfoot kept his gaze on the apprentice, his ear twitching as he heard soft footfalls on the stone floor. The sweet murmur of the river fell to the background of his mind as he listened to Silentsong come nearer. Finally, when she was too close to ignore, he turned to face her. He was slightly surprised to see her gaze, gentle and loving as always, sparkling with something he couldn't identify.
He stumbled, unprepared for when she nudged him, and he almost missed her question. It brought a fiery flush to his skin, and he hackles bristled hesitantly.
"Silentsong . . ."
He whispered, not being able to hide the pain beneath his words. He didn't bother, either. Before he continued, he bit his bottom lip, unsure of what to say. What could he say? Anything said now was lethal - any attempt at rekindling this fire would only make the flames, the pain, stronger. He had never thought pain could kill, but if he took another step closer, he would certainly find out. A swift, painful death, his heart hollowing with hurt until all that was left was an empty shell.
So he would not tell her that he still loved her with all his heart. He couldn't do that to himself, to Silentsong, to SnowClan; playing such a game, leading them on, playing with both the devil and the angel. SnowClan deserved better. She deserved better - she deserved someone could truly care for her, love her, comfort her without worries of a Clan to watch over. His loyalty would not allow giving into such a temptation, and besides - he was now a medicine cat. They both were.
These thoughts ran through his mind quickly, and it took him less than a second to reach his conclusion.
"Silentsong," he repeated, louder now, all traces of the pain gone. "We are both medicine cats abiding StarClan's will. I care for you, but I cannot say I that I have ever loved you." The words tore at his heart, shattering it into flints, unreparable, irreplaceable. He felt weakened, as if he his knees would give out on him at such a powerful lie. Maybe there was no chance - maybe he would die of heartbreak either way, for this was just as painful as telling his beloved he could not choose her.
A flicker of the pain within shot across Frostfoot's face, but it was gone quickly, as if it had never been.

Silentsong wanted to rip her ears off. She couldn't believe the words. Sparkling tears rolled down her brown tabby face, flowing from her emerald eyes. 'How... how can you say that?' she asked. She turned her face away. She stood up and stalked to the farthest corner. She layed down and covered her face.

Frostfoot cracked. Almost
The sight of her tears, her silent voice echoing with moons upon moons of hurt, her slim figure turning away from him, it all crashed onto him, rolling over him. Like an uncontrollable wave, it held him, pinned him under, and he felt himself give in to the blue. He took a step forward, about to break into a run to reach Silentsong's side and comfort her, chase away her demons.
And then he remembered that he had been her demon - and could not help her. At all.
A sob tore from his lips, his breath coming in heavy rasps. It became harder to breathe, with the pain upon him like the strangling, smothering blanket of blue. He felt as if he were deep under the water, deeper than he had ever been before, with the surface too far away for him to reach.
How could he have done this! How could he have hurt her! It was his fault in the entire - he had been the one to fall, to make the first move, to lead her on, despite fighting for his loyalties to SnowClan. Since that very first night, he had known it would never work, yet he had kept pushing for it - and now, Silentsong was broken, and the only one who could ever make her whole again could never do it.
The fiery tom was causing her so much misery, so much pain, and her pain wanted to tear at his heart, to rip him to shreds, to leave him bleeding where no cat could ever save him. If only his heart was whole; but alas, it was too late, his heart already have imploded upon itself. And someone had taken each sliver, each broken piece, and scattered it across the land, never to be retrieved.
It was far too much to take in, and he suddenly stopped himself.
Swallowing deeply, a loud noise against her quiet cries, Frostfoot stood frozen to the spot. The stone underfoot felt suddenly too cold to bear, even colder than the snowy-topped mountains of his territory. Quietening his dry sobs, he turned away without a word, not answering her question.
It wasn't one he could answer; not truthfully.
ooc; BUWHHAHAHA, i love this 8DDD My siggie fits SO well with all my charries on this site, too! ;D

Silentsong's pe;t was hot with frustration. How could she believe he would do anything for her. She had killed her father for him. How could he do that to her.
